2. Universal Principles

  Article 08- Belief
8.1 Belief
Everything we see and hold physically real from the television, to the internet, to the clothes we wear, was at some time ideas in a person's mind.
Our nature of the world around us is built largely upon beliefs and ideas (models) on how things fit and how they relate. That even though many of the beliefs we hold true are adopted from others (created by others), we may consider them as our own.
8.2 Freedom of belief
Consistent and subject to the rights, responsibilities and privileges stated in this Charter, it is a founding principle of this Charter that all members shall have the right to subscribe to whatever belief system they choose.
8.3 Freedom of expression of belief
Excepting belief systems containing material based on self-hate that are therefore subject to identification, labeling and regulation, it shall be a right for individuals and groups to freely express to others their belief systems.
8.4 Secular belief of the Society
It is a founding principle of this Charter that the instruments, objects and function of the Society shall always be secular and free from subscription to any religious belief system.
